BlackBerry 2nd Generation 8120 UMA Wifi Pearl
While similar in design to the original Pearl, this new
quad band world model supports T-Mobile's Hotspot@Home
service by adding UMA/VOIP/Wifi capability. It also boasts
an improved 2 megapixel camera. There are several very
important, but not advertised benefits to UMA/Wif for
global travelers.
The Blackberry Pearl is designed for those who want a
small phone foremost, but also the ability to check e-mail
on the fly. RIM's Suretype 2 letter per key qwerty keypad
is ingenious, but not as intuitive as their standard one
letter-per key qwerty keypad. This is the model that is
most popular with consumers although it is enterprise
ready and will work great for BES users.

This
model offers all the great benefits of the GSM 8100 Pearl
like the mp3 player, and removable MicroSD memory. This
is the long awaited CDMA/EVDO version offering data speeds
over 5 times faster than it's GSM cousin. It also has
an improved 2mp camera and several software upgrades that
were not previously available. Unfortunately, unlike the
8830 model, it is not world enabled. Still, this is the
phone of choice for those who want a small but very robust
PDA for North American use.

in the black color. Verizon has just announced a major
price drop on their unlimited BlackBerry internet e-mail
