Sprint
& Verizon Apple iPhone 4S Global
CDMA/GSM Smartphone
The iPhone 4S is the first iPhone to earn my endorsement.
Apple's new dual antenna design overcame their "grip of death"
reception problem. They have also tweaked battery efficiency on this
model which was also one of our peeves. The 4S features a far improved
8-megapixel camera with all-new optics. It records stunning 1080p
HD video and blows the doors off my EVO's camera. It comes with iOS
5 and iCloud. Siri, an amazing voice activated personal intelligent
assistant helps you get things done, just by using your voice. The
device pricing itself is identical between carriers. Carrier coverage
and data plans differ though. When ordering, please specify carrier,
GB memory, and color preferences. The prices with 2 year plans are:
$199.99/16GB, $299.99/32GB and $399.99/64GB. The color choices are
black or white. Remember, taxes are based on the pre-discount prices
which range between $650 and $850 depending on memory configuration.
And yes, I just turned in my EVO (Android OS) and am now using an
iPhone 4S-16GB. It's awesome! Order
yours now!

Motorola 4G LTE Droid RAZR 4.3" AMOLED Android
If you imagine what the iPhone 5 might look like, this could
be it. First off, it also has a built-in non-user replaceable battery.
This is my beef with the iPhones. It also has 4G LTE capabilities
along with 3G. What's unique at first glance is the slimness of this
model. Motorola acheives this by utilizng a Kevlar backplate with
super durable Corning Gorilla Glass on the front screen. A dual core
1.2Ghz processor with 1GB of DDR2 RAM will handle everything you would
want to do. The super AMOLED 4.3" screen is simply brilliant.
The Droid RAZR also has an 8MP camera that can even record 1080p HD
video for playback on your flatscreen TV. This is the thinnest and
lighest of the bad boys at 4.48oz. This device is mobile hotpost capable
for up to 8 devices when subscribing to this feature. If there was
one feature that is lacking, it would be the global SIM card. This
model is not a global capable model bit a great domestic choice, if
you are not a heavy user like me. It is currently $299.99 with 2 year
contracts.

Verizon
Samsung Galaxy Nexus with IceCream Sandwich OS
This model is very similar to the Galaxy S models
with a few important differences. It also has a 1.2GHz dual
core processor and 4.6" Super AMOLED HD screen. Ice Cream Sandwich
brings an entirely new look and feel to Android though. The lock screen,
widgets, notifications, multi-tasking and everything in between have
been rethought and refined to make Android simple, beautiful, and
beyond smart. This model debuts Face Unlock, Simply hold the phone
in front of your face and smile at the camera and your device unlocks.
Now add Verizon's 4G LTE network
speeds and all the other bells and whistles. Curiously, the camera
is only 5mp while many other high-end models offer 8mp. It's too bad
that Samsung continues to use those plastic housings instead of aluminum
and/or steel. That being said, this is an excellent model for gaming,
watching movies, and video conferencing. It works great streaming
Adobe Flash videos too. This model is currently $299.99 with plans
and rumored to be coming to Sprint soon.

Samsung Galaxy S-2 Android featuring HSPA+42
Ironically, while T-Mobile doesn't have the 4G infrastructure
of the other carriers, they have figured out a way to maximize their
3G network speeds to meet, if not exceed the big boys 4G speeds. While
AT&T and Sprint S2 models have 1.2GHz dual-core processors, T-Mobile's
version sports a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor. In speed
tests, this model and the other HSPA+42 model, the HTC Arrive both
averaged 8mbps with speeds as high as 20mbps. This model also has
the 4.52" Super AMOLED display, 8mp rear camera, 2mp front camera,
1080p record/playback and all the rest of the cool applications and
features found on Android Gingerbread 2.3 OS. This model will sell
for $229.99 after October 10, 2011 |

HTC Amaze Android 2.3 SmartPhone
with HSPA+42
Progressive downloading means
virtually no waiting, select the show you want to watch and get started
watching right away while the show downloads in the background. With
a supercharged 1.5 GHz dual core processor and theoretical peak download
speeds of 42 Mbps, this smartphone on T-Mobile's 4G network allows
you to browse the web faster than on home Internet. While most manufacturers
simply leave a one-line description for the camera, T-Mobile touts
the photography capabilities of this device. Simply mentioning the
8 megapixel sensor might be an understatement for the HTC Amaze. Some
paired up technologies include auto face detection, shake detection,
dual LED flash, an illuminated sensor for low-light imaging, a wide
aperture lens, and zero shutter lag. The HTC Amaze also has a 4.3
inch qHD Super LCD display, HDMI output, a microUSB port, Bluetooth,
WiFi, Mobile Hotspot support, 16 GB of internal storage, microSD expansion,
and a 1730 mAh battery. Of course, the device runs on Android 2.3
Gingerbread and HTC Sense 3.0.

Verizon
HTC Rezound 4G LTE Android with Beats Music
The original Sprint HTC EVO 4G was a gamechanger much like the iPhone.
HTC debuted their first 4G LTE model for Verizon about 8 months later.
It was called the HTC Thunderbolt and it is still current. The Rezound
is the next generation. It's not the thinnest phone, nor does it have
Ice Cream Sandwich (yet), but being the first carrier-branded handset
in the US boasting a 720p HD display should carry a lot of weight.
The Rezound -- as you might have gathered from the name -- is also
the first HTC gizmo in the States to integrate Beats Audio. If you
are a music afficianado, get this Smartphone! What a beast! It comes
with a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8660 CPU, Adreno 220 GPU, 1GB
of RAM, an 8MP rear camera with 1080p video capture and a 2MP front-facing
cam, 16GB of internal storage (10 of which are user-accessible) and
an included 16GB microSD card. This model is even being packaged with
a $100 pair of iBeats. If you are a music lover, this is the rolls
royce of music players. Now $299.99*
