Early reports on Storm, not good.

Coverage- Frequently the most overlooked consideration and definitely the most important criteria. Fortunately, the highly successful platforms like PALM, BlackBerry and PocketPC are now supported by the majority of the wireless carriers. Compare voice and data coverage with each carrier before committing to a specific device.

Operating System- Palm, Microsoft Windows Mobile, Symbian and BlackBerry are the most popular PDA Operating systems. All will easily sync with your Microsoft Outlook desktop or exchange server. This means your calendar, contacts, tasks and e-mail leave the office when you do. The Blackberry devices set the standard for Push e-mail and are the best choice for those who need to stay in the e-mail loop. As far as web browsing, generally the Blackberry devices are fair, the TREO devices are good and the MS Windows Mobile 6.1 devices are outstanding.

Navigation- Being able to move from function-to-function smoothly is very important. Currently the three most popular ways are stylus, keyboard and multi-position qwerty wheel. The stylus based solutions utilize graffiti or handwriting recognition. Some devices, like the SONYERICSSON P800/P900/P910 models incorporated all three navigational options. Most of the MS Window devices like the PPC-6700/6800 series have transcribers built in that decipher cursive and automatically input as letters. The latest gimmick is "touch Screen" navigation. Choose your preference.

Phone/PDA Priority- Some devices are designed as phones with PDA functionality and some are designed as PDA's with phone functionality. Choose a device according to your priorities. All of the above are capable of syncing your Computer's calendar, address book and tasks to your PDA. For Mac OS 10 users, consider Palm, Symbian or BlackBerry devices. These will easily be able to sync with free 3rd party software.

E-mail Delivery- Dr Wireless was one of the original six Research-in-Motion/BellSouth Interactive Agents when Push e-mail technology was first introduced in the mid 1990's. We handle all Blackberry devices for all major carriers and can easily integrate any of these products with your company's Microsoft Exchange Server or Desktop. Unlike other e-mail solutions that "pull" e-mail at scheduled intervals, BlackBerry technology immediately "pushes" a copy of all new e-mails from your server (or desktop) to the BlackBerry device.

Features- BlueTooth, WiFI, GPS, mega-pixel digital cameras, video cameras, and streaming audio/Video are just a few of the many options available. Ask one of our professional wireless analysts which device and features are best suited for your needs.

Scalability-
PDAs are actually small computers. Like computers, what is current today is likely to be obsolete in six months. When buying a PDA or connection card, don't just consider your needs for today. New wireless technologies are allowing us to do more than ever while out of the office.

As you can probably tell by now, Doctor Wireless highly recommends RIM BlackBerry products and services. Currently, the BlackBerry Bold, 8800 series and the 8320 Curve with WiFi are our best selling products.

Once all of the above is decided, click here for the appropriate application, complete it, and securely submit back to us.
