The name, Time Warner is on it's way out. Charter just dropped $79 Billion on TW and another $10.4 Billion on Bright House, another regional cable player. I'm really not sure how Charter pulled this off after the FCC denied Comcast from doing the same thing. The new entity will be called Spectrum.
About the same time, Frontier has also bought Verizon's FIOS division. I had heard years ago that "If your neighborhood doesn't already have FIOS, it won't be getting it". That's because Verizon allegedly decided not to invest any further in this division. I have heard about quite a few unhappy Frontier customers who feel that they got the short end of the stick. Obviously, shareholders love these mega mergers for good reason. My question is has there been any mergers that have benefitted consumers? I'm not sure either one of these will but time will tell.
